Hi there! My name is Gena and I believe that happiness comes from being your most authentic self at all times and that who you are matters in what you do. I'm an aspiring user experience designer currently working on building the operations of Bridj, a dynamic transit startup. I find that I apply my academic background in ethnographic research methods on a daily basis. I listen to what is spoken, but am often more inquisitive of what isn't. Ethnographic methods are powerful because narratives move us to action. Sometimes that means listening to what might be inconvenient or difficult. Paying attention to my own voice has led me to shift career paths and in doing so, I've learned to embrace ambiguity and Mary Oliver's gentle urging to "leave room in your heart for the unimaginable." I'm looking forward to pairing my way of listening with a way of creating as a designer.
